National Wormhole Day Blog Hop!

Welcome to the National Wormhole Day Blog Hop, sponsored by Stephen Tremp. I was excited to help celebrate Albert Einsten's birthday, which is on March 14th. What a wonderful way to travel through time and space than with a blog hop. It can take you to new heights as you meet new travelers all over the world. You can be a part of this blog hop by clicking HERE.

Here's the challenge:

What would you do or where would you go if you could traverse a wormhole through space or time just once? One safe round trip passage. Would you go back in time and talk some sense into a younger you? Go five years into the future and bring back the Wall Street Journal? See just how the heck the Great Pyramids of Giza were really built? View what the other side of the universe looks like?

I decided to travel into the future to a planet that was technologically advanced from ours. I'm taking every sort of device that will store information so I can bring the technology back with me. I might even get something from my new friends that is more advanced, like a button-sized recorder that is capable of not only storing information, but also computing and solving problems. Ideally, it would learn and translate new languages.

I'm especially interested in their medical innovations and the ability to travel through space at light speed. Also, a planet that is so advanced would probably have peace among its people, since their needs would be met and they would be productive parts of society.

Einstein had his own theories about light speed (E=mc2), but since I'm not an expert, I'd bring back the information and make sure it got into the right hands. After making such a voyage, my life would be changed. I'm sure I would be constantly looking up at the stars, wishing to make another trip. Of course, I do that now since I'm a science fiction addict and think that time travel is the coolest way to meet the universe.

Now that you've read my ideas about travel through a wormhole, let's hear about yours! Make sure you visit others in this very cool blog hop! (click here)

  4. What a fun bloghop! I'm so torn, not sure which way I'd go. It would be so wonderful to slip back in time and see people I love who are now gone. But, like you, I think I'd lean toward the future, and the greater good. :-)

I like that you've thought it through--what to take with you so you could bring back information. :-) Good post, Karen! :-)

    1. Teresa: If I went back in time, I'd be afraid of altering something that would mess up the future. Get it?

    1. I think it will be. It's so close now, that in a hundred years it will be one of those completely nonexistent diseases.

  6. Bringing back information would be an awesome thing to do. But we would have to write it down, so it won't back into space!

    1. I'd not only wrote it down, I'd pass it on to others.

    1. That's where the new technology comes in. I wouldn't need pen and paper because it would auto-record, visually and sound. Great, huh?

    1. It would be easy, unless others tried to stop me from coming back.

  9. Going into the future to bring back technology that could improve the present sounds like a great way to go. (Earthlings will think YOU'RE an alien!)

    1. Assuming I assimilate the new culture from the future, I would be an alien. Perhaps not even recognized by my friends and family.

  10. A future at peace would be an awesome discovery. Hurry up and bring that technology back so we can get started. :)

  11. I like the future as a choice, too. Try to be circumspect so the aliens or future humans don't suspect that you're traveling in time.

  13. I always wonder how productive people could be if everything in their world was already perfect. Not sure it would be possible :)

I'd love to visit a future colonised planet!

    1. I believe people would be free to pursue the arts and sciences. If everything wasn't completely done for them. Making a daily trip to see the stars would keep the people from getting bored, maybe?

  14. That would be a cool way to spend your trip, You'd make millions if you could get someone to listen to everything you'd recorded!

    1. Unfortunately, it could start a technology war with me in the middle. I'd have to hide from the people that would want to steal it for their own greedy nature.

  15. So you'd make the adventure last on & on by bringing technology back. Very smart.
