My Sister Tells About Me!

My sister, Retta Stephenson, at Art By Retta, has spilled the beans on me! She includes an old time photo of our younger days and tells what we were like. If you have siblings then you know it can't all be good. But my sister tells the nitty-gritty, both good and bad. Go HERE to read about it.

Retta is an accomplished artist who designed more than one of my book covers. She designed the cover for Medieval Muse, Destination Earth and Galaxy Nomads: Chronicles of the MacKenzie Clan. Actually, on Destination Earth, she re-worked my attempt at creating my own cover.

Retta has work on her website HERE that is fantastic! She uses color to paint a scene that inspires my writing. I love looking at her paintings and her mascot VEVIE, who is in many of her Virtual Paintout Tour pictures.

I was delighted to reminisce with my sister and remember times that were days gone by. It's important to re-visit those days as a writer so I can have a feel for different ages in my stories. Thank you, sis, for bringing back the old days!

The Making of a Book Cover

I'm excited to announce that my sister, Retta Stephenson, at Art By Retta is showing how she made the book cover to Galaxy Nomads: Chronicles of the MacKenzie Clan on Friday June 26th. You can discover this fascinating process by going to her blog. CLICK HERE.

Retta is an accomplished artist who has pictures at Fine Art America. She spends hours making her pictures by hand, instead of digitally, as is the current fashion. Her balance of colors is wonderful and I'm amazed at how she chooses her subjects. Retta has her collection posted HERE, which is her website.

I am encouraged by her spirit and enthusiasm when she decides to do a project. One person once described it as a bulldog. She bites down and doesn't let go. Her work is phenomenal and inspires me in my writing. There is a quote on her website that is one of my favorite:

"You're never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." ~~ C.S. Lewis

Galaxy Nomads: On Tour

I'm pleased to announce that the Official Launch of Galaxy Nomads: Chronicles of the MacKenzie Clan was a complete success!

I was thrilled to receive a 5 star review which detailed many of the salient points in the book. Sorry, no spoilers! You can see more about that at Retta Stephenson's blog Art By Retta.

In the near future I'll be visiting Yolanda Renee's blog, Defending The Pen, with an interview about me. I chose questions that will answer things about me you've never heard before, so be sure to watch for the date. I'll be announcing it soon!

I also want to thank Mpax for the shout-out on her blog. Her book Precipice is on tour right now. You can find it on her website HERE.

This time has been a whirlwind for me, but in the middle of it I've been able to work on the outline for the sequel, Gemini: Chronicles of the MacKenzie Clan. It's the story of the next generation of MacKenzies, two seventeen year old twins who find themselves in a lot of mischief. You'll be hearing more about this book as it progresses.

I'd like to give a big thank you to all those who have supported me and left comments to encourage me during this launch. I appreciate the encouragement and congratulations! It means a lot to an aspiring author to know she's not just chasing windmills. Thank you very much!

Cover Reveal: L.G. Keltner's "A Silent Soliloquy"

L.G. Keltner's new novel, A Silent Soliloquy, is in a Science Fiction/Dystopian genre.

The release date is July 6, 2015.

Cover art by Devross.

Length: 28,000 words

TIPPIE was created to be a weapon.  By all appearances, she's an ordinary girl of 18, and she uses that to her advantage in her work for The Facility.  What no one sees is that there's another girl buried deep inside.  She can't speak or control the movements of the body she inhabits.  As TIPPIE's silent passenger, she can only observe.  She uses the details she learns from TIPPIE's work to reconstruct the stories of other people's lives.  It helps her feel a little more connected to the world she can only watch.

When TIPPIE's work leads her to David, a young man with a haunted past and information that The Facility wants, TIPPIE uses her skills to earn his trust.  The silent girl beneath the surface knows that TIPPIE is only going to hurt him, but she can't help but feel for him.  Those feelings only grow, but she knows all too well that TIPPIE's work will soon come to an end.

L.G. Keltner spends most of her time trying to write while also cleaning up after her crazy but wonderful kids and hanging out with her husband.  Her favorite genre of all time is science fiction, and she’s been trying to write novels since the age of six.  Needless to say, those earliest attempts weren’t all that good.

Her non-writing hobbies include astronomy and playing Trivial Pursuit.

You can typically find L.G. lurking around herblog, on Twitter, or on her Facebook page.
