Galaxy Nomads
Chronicles of the MacKenzie Clan

The MacKenzie clan is forced to flee from the devastating destruction of a supernova and is challenged to a ruthless game of survival. When all seems hopeless, a new generation arises to battle their worst enemy in a unique battle of wits. Will the MacKenzies survive betrayal, pirates and wormholes to the outer quadrants? Here they find a new race of people on the Patchouli planet where the female is Alpha. They learn wisdom from the mystics and seers on their jaunt through the universe and from across the galaxy two brothers are reconciled to each other. They experience love and hate in the Merridian sector when a prince is abducted and must be rescued before a cruel cousin steals the throne. An epic read that will send you spiraling at warp speed through all the MacKenzie generations.

Celebrate Today!

Friday was my daughter's 40th birthday and we celebrated and had a great time. During a conversation about aging, my daughter stopped and said: "Where did the time go?"

We decided that the present moment was the most important time. What we are doing right now determines our future and shapes our past. We live in the present and our actions become what we are.

Are you writing a book today? Are you working on it today? Then you should celebrate today because you have accomplished something today. Although we set goals for the future, we should remember to stay in the now and not dwell in the future or the past.

Have a happy today! Celebrate today!

The Rules of Engagement

Marketing is said to be the Indie author's bread and butter, so I've been reading up on what I "should" be doing in order to get myself out there.

First of all, I'm supposed to be gathering all my friends on an email list so I can keep them up to date on my latest ideas and new books. Recently, I went to a website that wouldn't let me read anything until I "signed up". How rude is that? I think it should be the reader's choice. But, it was his website.

Another thing I'm supposed to be doing is convincing other blog owners to let me do guest posts. I never was one to blow my own horn, but to appear on someone's blog and say: "Hi! You need me!" just creeps me out. Maybe I need some lessons in self esteem.

But I am doing something right! I have a growing Twitter presence and have finally learned what a hashtag is: #amwriting or in my case, #amretweeting. You can find me on Twitter as @weetot52.

Another thing I exploring is the possibility of doing podcasts. I can put snippits of my stories on a podcast and let my readers enjoy listening to them. The one drawback to this idea is that it can be very time consuming and requires dedication.

All in all I'm moving in the right direction. Social media takes a lot of time and energy but will pay off in the end.

"To receive you must give first."

Galaxy Nomads Coming in June!

Galaxy Nomads: Chronicles of the MacKenzie Clan is scheduled to be published on Amazon.com and Smashwords.com in June. So far, everything is on schedule. I'm excited about this epic adventure and hope you get a chance to read my book.

The cover design was done by Retta Stephenson at Art By Retta.. I enjoyed watching how she developed an idea and did the layout and design from just the small story snippets I gave her. Great job, Retta! She'll be showing how she developed this book cover on her blog in June. Look for it! Also check out her gallery at RettaStephenson.com.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you out there who are mothers to children, pets or anything else that causes you to put your heart out. I hope you are having a wonderful day!

I've been thinking about my own mother today, Mary S. Lewin. She's in heaven now and I miss her, especially on special days like today. She was a wonderful mother who gave an extraordinary amount of love to me, especially when I had three children to take care of. My mother gave up her own plans (along with my step-father, John) and moved in with me so I could go back to nursing school. She took care of my children and helped me put my life back together. There aren't enough praises to give her for that kind of love. All I can say is thank you, mother.

And yet, as a mother, I would do it myself for my children. That's the legacy from my mother. I love you, mother!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU!
