Insecure Writer's Support Group

Okay, so I'm a day late! For me, it's Wednesday, the first in the month of July. That's when I'm supposed to post, right? Wrong! Because of the holiday, Alex Cavanaugh, host of IWSG changed the day without consulting me. Of course, why would he? I'm just teasing here. Anyway, what I wanted to post about:

My upcoming book Medieval Muse is set to be launched August 1st and my stomach is in knots. Not just worrying if people will like it, but worrying about the formatting, publishing and all that stuff that goes with publishing an ebook. What did I forget?

Of course, I've had some expert help along the way. M. Pax, author of the newly released The Backworlds, has graciously been offering me tips of the trade. This has helped enormously, especially since it's my first time doing it myself.

I also had help from Loretta Stephenson at Art By Retta. She did a beautiful job on the book cover and I am indebted to her for the hours she spent making it look so great.

I'm glad to have so many friends that have been so supportive during this process of learning and doing something new. I can always remember that every author has been in the same place at one time in their life. So what have you been doing recently?

  1. Awww, how courageous of you to be so honest about the insecurities you are feeling about the book launch.

It might be a steep learning curve, but I just know you will do fine! And I agree... Mary is a generous mentor!

    Happy 4th!

    1. Rettakat: Thank you so much for your encouragement. I say that with a dry mouth as I swallow hard and pray that all goes well.

And yes, Mary is an incredible person who has given much of herself.
